The Town of Brewster is in the process of hosting two 1.8MW Cape and Vineyard Electric Cooperative (CVEC) turbines in Brewster's Commerce Park industrial area off Freeman's Way. The industrial park is over 1,800 feet distant from any residence. The two proposed wind turbines will produce enough renewable electricity to serve all of the current Town of Brewster public building electricity needs. Extensive information, including videos taken of neighbors living near turbines in other towns, has been posted on the Cape and Vineyard Electric Cooperative website: www.cvecinc.org. You can also call 508-375-6636 for more information on this important step towards bringing alternate energy and its financial benefit to the town of Brewster.
Video of the 9/13/10 Board of Selectmen's Meeting concerning the Turbines is also available online in our video section.
