The Treasurer/Collector's office is responsible for financial management; cash investment and administration for all town funds including the reconciliation of bank statements and cash balances; all aspects of debt management; the mailing and collection of all real estate, personal property, motor vehicle excise and boat excise bills; and the administration of payroll including fringe benefits for town employees and retirees and related personnel requirements.
Tax and Personal Property taxes may be paid electronically through InvoiceCloud using an e-check or credit card. There is a small 40 cent fee to use an e-check. Credit cards are also accepted, but there is a substantial fee based on a percentage of the transaction. This is charged by the credit card processor and is not under Brewster or InvoiceCloud's control. All credit card transactions entail these fees which are generally built into the price of goods by private business.
For your convenience, we have an outside Drop Box. You can pay any tax bill with a check or money order by dropping your payment in the outside drop box located at the Town Hall Main Entrance (just to the right ofthe double doors.) Payments dropped after 3:30p.m. will be credited on the following business day. No Cash Please!
The cost of a Municipal Lien Certificate is $25 for all parcel types. Please send a self-addressed stamped envelope and a request which includes the parcel ID, street address, and owner's name.
