Though the Brewster Ladies Library remains closed at this time, we are very excited to announce our plans to begin a new service - curbside pickup of Library materials! Book drop-off began on Thursday May 28. This is your opportunity to bag up your library books, don a mask, and drop them off at the library. The two book drops will be open and you are welcome to return library materials at any time. Please note, materials are not due until June 30, 2020 and all late fees are still being waived. In addition, we will be quarantining materials for 72 hours after they are returned, so you will see a delay between returning materials and seeing them removed from your account. We are still NOT accepting any book donations at this time.
Next week, starting on Thursday June 4, we will begin offering curbside pickup of requested library materials. At this time, delivery between libraries is not operating, so patrons will be limited to borrowing books from our shelves only. You may place a hold online through the catalog as usual at CLAMS Online catalog https://encore.clamsnet.org, call us at 508-896-3913, or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to request items.
Beginning June 2, staff will be in the building to receive calls Tuesday-Saturday between 10AM-3 PM. After your request has been filled, you will be notified of your pickup day and your materials will be waiting for you. Contactless, self-serve pickup will be available Tuesday –Saturday between 2pm-4pm in the lower parking lot.
Priority will be given to materials that have been waiting on the hold shelf since our closure on March 15th. Once those materials are picked up, we will start filling new hold requests. .Again, please remember that items are limited to the Brewster Ladies Library catalogue.
All library patrons should wear a mask during pickup. Staff will not accept items for return through curbside pickup. Patrons can return library items using the external book drop on the side of the building.
If you are homebound, please contact us so we can arrange for a front-door drop off. We ask that this service only be requested by those who truly have no other way to get their materials.
As with everything these days, we will all have to remain flexible and patient as we work out kinks in the system and figure out this “new normal” together. We’re looking forward to seeing you and hope you and yours are well.
