BEACH WHEELCHAIR: We have 2 beach wheelchairs that can be taken out on loan for 2 days at a time for a fee of $10.00 between the months of May to October. The wheelchairs are to be used at any of our Brewster beaches. Please call us at 508-896-2737 to reserve one.
COMPASS ADULT DAY HEALTH PROGRAM: This VNA Adult Day Health Center offers seniors a high quality alternative to nursing home placement. By providing a variety of programs and services, the day center enhances the lives of older adults and enables them to live at home, yet receive the therapy and support services they require. FLU CLINIC: In conjunction with the Brewster Health Department and the Visiting Nurse’s Association, we have a Flu Clinic every October. Call for more details.
KEEP MOVIN’: Meets Mondays and Fridays from 9:45am to 10:45am - 10 week strength training session for seniors. 20 classes cost of $50.00. These classes are friendly and a fun way to relieve arthritis symptoms and learn important strengthening exercises. Classes start out easy and help to build strength and coordination each week by using adjustable weights and stretch bands.
LINE DANCING FOR FUN & FITNESS: Wednesday mornings 8:45-9:30am – offered thru Cape Sands Ballroom. Fun way to get light exercise and meet new friends. No dance experience required. $4.00 per class when paid on a monthly basis, drop-ins are $6.00 per class. Cash or checks payable to “Cape Sands Ballroom”. Wear casual layered clothing and shoes that slide well – bring a water bottle and a small towel.

MEDICAL EQUIPMENT SHED: We are very lucky to have a shed full of medical equipment for our Brewster citizens to borrow. Generally, we have commodes, shower seats, wheelchairs and walkers, crutches, regular canes and 4 prong canes. Stop in during our working hours to see if there is something that you can borrow to help you out.
ORLEANS DAYCARE: The Orleans Daycare Program is a unique high-level program for seniors who are short-term memory challenged and/or who wish to join a supportive day program. Trial visits are available. The program provides needed respite for caregivers. For more information, please call 508-255-6333.
PEDICARE: 2nd Monday of every month from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Appointments are ½ hour at the charge of $29.00. Diabetics must see a MD/Podiatrist. Home visits are also provided for a fee of $50.00. Please call us to make an appointment at 508-896-2737.
QI GONG – Meets Thursday mornings from 9 to 9:45am – 5 week sessions for $10.00. This is an ancient Chinese health care system that integrates physical postures, breathing techniques and focuses to help reduce stress, build stamina, increase vitality and enhances the immune system. SENIOR STRIDERS (Formerly known as our Walking Group): Mondays – Fridays throughout the school year from 6:30am to 7:15am and 3:00pm to 5:00pm at the Stony Brook Elementary School. Please call the Brewster Recreation Department at 508-896-9430 for more information and to sign up. It’s FREE! This group will not meet on holidays and school vacations.

SCREENING: Hearing screening are offered by appointment on the 3rd Thursday of the month. These FREE screening include ear inspections and hearing aid checks if needed. Each appointment is for 15 minutes. Call 508-896-2737 to set an appointment.
SWIMMING: Brewster Green Pool: Fridays, 10:00am -12noon. Because this is so popular, this is ONLY available for Brewster’s senior residents, age 60+. You will also need to have your ‘Swipe Card’ issued by the COA. If you don’t have one, just stop into the Senior Center office to get one---they’re FREE!. A donation of $1.00 per swim, accepted by the COA, is recommended and this is done by an HONOR system. Stop by the COA on a monthly basis to support this wonderful activity! Generally available from October to mid-June, excluding holidays.
TOWN NURSE: In conjunction with the Brewster Health Department and the Visiting Nurses’ Association, our Town Nurse does home visits and medication pre-fills for the homebound and without a support system. Please call the Director at 508-896-2737 for more information.
YOGA: Tuesdays from 9:00am to 10:30am - $10.00 per class. This class uses breathing techniques as a foundation for exploring gentle and safe stretching.
