During June the Brewster Department of Public Works will be undertaking Pavement Preservation and Resurfacing projects at two locations.
The DPW will be applying Rubber Modified Chip Seal on Freemans Way and South Orleans Road (Route 39). Chip Seals are a common product used to protect and preserve good pavement surfaces. This process will be applied curb to curb and will be a moving traffic set-up with the road being open at all times. Prior to the placement of the seal the road will be crack sealed with rubber and following the placement of the chip seal the road will be sweep of loose stone and re-striped. The project which is expected to last from 2 to 3 days to complete.
The DPW will be resurfacing Long Pond Road (Route 137) beginning at the Harwich town line and ending at Underpass Road. The project will involve an asphalt overlay to the existing pavement width. The road will be open throughout the project. The project is expected to be completed within 10 work days however, weather will impact the schedule of work. Residents should expect delays while the project is ongoing.
Brewster Police will be performing traffic control for these projects. Please call Brewster DPW at 508-896-3212 for additional information or check the town website for updates. We thank the people of Brewster for their cooperation throughout these projects.
