Paine’s Creek and Slough Pond Closed for Swimming Until At Least Thursday, August 31

Slough Pond

Paine’s Creek and Slough Pond are temporarily closed to swimming until at least Thursday, August 31, due to elevated bacterial counts found during routine weekly surface water sampling.  The water will be resampled and swimming will be reopened when bacterial counts have reached an acceptable swimming water quality level.  Although swimming is temporarily closed, both beaches will remain open for all other activities.  All of Brewster’s public and semi-public swimming beaches are monitored on a weekly basis per MA 105 CMR 445.000 Minimum Standards for Bathing Beaches.  For additional information regarding our water quality monitoring program and a listing of this week’s results, please visit:  https://www.capecod.gov/departments/health-environment/programs-services/water-and-wastewater/beach-sample-results/
